On October 7, the Boston City Council adopted a resolution recognizing the 25th anniversary of Opening Our Doors Day and naming October 12, 2026 as “Opening Our Doors Day” in the City of Boston.

The resolution was brought forward by Councilor Sharon Durkan, Councilor Ruthzee Louijeune, and Councilor Henry Santana. We thank Councilor Durkan, Louijeune, and Santana for this honor and
we are grateful to the entire City Council for the recognition of this milestone anniversary. For a quarter century, Opening Our Doors Day has invited neighbors, families, and visitors from across Boston to experience the extraordinary arts, cultural, and academic institutions of the Fenway, free and open to all.

This honor belongs to everyone who has made the day possible: our member institutions, our corporate partners, our board, our volunteers, and the community members who return year after year.

Thank you for helping us open our doors for 25 years, and here’s to many more!
